The status of Android Wear 2.0:

The company has encountered some issues during the development of Android Wear 2.0, due to which it was launched towards the end of 2016. Due to this, Google has delayed its launch and ultimately it was released at the beginning of 2017.

The two new smartwatches released by LG named Watch Style and Watch sport, were the first one to be powered by Android Wear 2.0.

Google has presently brought out the software update for 8 out of 19 smartwatches and has yet not confirmed when the update will roll out to other devices. New smartwatches are also expected to reach the market soon. At the beginning of March, Guess has revealed two new Connect smartwatches. Also, Hugo Boss Touch, Tommy Hilfiger TH24/7 You and the Diesel On are few smartwatches that will make its way to the users by the second part of this year.

What Android Wear 2.0 will include?

The update Android Wear 2.0 comes with a bundle of new features like improved Watch Faces, ease of access to Android Pay (for devices supporting Near Field Communication), assistance for Google Play Store and standalone applications. One more interesting feature is that the smartwatch OS will provide support for Google Assistant.
